Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I got to play twinkle twinkle little star as a solo my first year of band. Right before I played, a piece on my flute broke, and the whole solo sounded awful. The director borrowed another player's flute body, and let me play it again-whoo!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chet Baker, Chet Baker Sings Danielle Ate the Sandwich, The Drawing Back of Curtains (Music from the Film "Packed in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson") Norah Jones, Come Away With Me Come Away With Me has to be my favorite. I remember my sister let me borrow the cd, and I loved it so much I could not stop listening to it. Chet Baker Sings is gorgeously romantic it hurts. DATS inspired me when I started learning ukulele.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Painter Painter” This is the first song I ever released. I had been wanting to record music for years, but just didn't have the money. So when I was finally able to release this track it felt like I could call myself a songwriter-like I was finally in the game.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Seeing a silly ukulele musical I wrote and performed online during the pandemic win a grant and be brought to life on stage for the first time. That was a "WOW I MADE SOMETHING" moment for me.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? There's lots! I'm such a tiny artist that I've only touched the surface of what I'd like to do. My biggest bucket list item is to finally do a tour-even if it's a small house tour. I'd also like to play a jazz festival and uke festivals like GNUF.
