Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember the first time I played in a band, we were playing at a Super Bowl party. We'd literally just formed the day before and didn't even have a drum set for our drummer so he sat on a bass amp and kept the beat with a pair of wooden spoons.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dave Matthews Band, Live At Red Rocks 8.15.95 Jars of Clay, Jars of Clay Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin IV (Remastered) These three records were foundational in the development of my musical taste. They shaped the things that I listen for when I'm listening to music and when I'm writing my own.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Better Days” This song was from the first time that I ever recorded music. I'd just recently finished it, and I brought the drummer and bassist from my old band out to San Diego, and we went into the studio to record it. It's a fun one to look back on!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When I was in my 20s I was working with an entertainment company and singing with a Rat Pack style act. We were playing a show for a Hall of Fame party and Darius Rucker jumped up on stage and started singing with me. That was a blast!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? One of my lifelong dreams is to headline Red Rocks in Colorado. It's an amazing venue with an amazing history where a bunch of my heroes have played. I'd love to be able to look back and say that I played on the same stage as they did.
