About Mélancolia
Australia's Mélancolia blend blackened deathcore, nu-metal, and industrial goth into a dark, theatrical style that balances raw brutality with haunting atmospherics. The Melbourne-based group introduced themselves to audiences in 2022 with the single "Horror Ethereal," which appeared on their debut long-player, the deathcore-leaning HissThroughRottenTeeth, the following year. Released by Nuclear Blast, the LP elicited praise in the metal underground and comparisons to artists like Cradle of Filth, Carnifex, and Lorna Shore. The band added nu-metal and industrial textures to its horror-themed sonic oeuvre with the release of their sophomore effort, 2025's random.access.misery.
