Jasmine Myra (given name Jasmine Whalley) is an alto saxophonist, flutist, composer, and bandleader based in Leeds, England. Deeply rooted in jazz, her sound ranges across post-bop and modal music, crossover classical, and contemporary instrumental. Bring to Light, her 2019 debut album, showcased her core quintet crisscrossing post-bop, breezy jazz-funk, subtle electronica, and hip-hop rhythms. 2022's Horizons -- billed to Jasmine Myra -- appeared on Gondwana. It showcased an organic octet appended by harp and string quartet; it was produced by trumpeter and Gondwana A&R man Matthew Halsall and mixed by Portico Quartet's Greg Freeman. Embraced by a slew of DJs and programmers, Myra was nominated for the Jazz FM Breakthrough Act of the Year Award.
