In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I don't actively remember this, but I like to think my dad playing trombone for me while I was still in the womb is a core memory in my subconscious, and completely affected how my life would later turn out as a musician. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Coldplay, Mylo Xyloto
Kensington, Rivals
The Boxer Rebellion, Promises
In developing my musical vision, "Mylo Xyloto" lit the first spark. "Promises" signifies when I branched out further and discovered more of myself after Coldplay had been a springboard. "Rivals" launched my effort to finally the music I'd dreamed of. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Tranquilize”
"Tranquilize" came along between my American Idol audition and Hollywood Week. It was born out of internalized ableism and desperation to unmask my "way off" feelings. It signifies major growth in my musical journey and my journey to independence. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Endlessly grateful to have made top 55 on season 21 of American Idol. It resulted in a massive surge in my exposure, a future songwriting collab with Lionel Richie, a message from my idol Chris Martin, and new lifelong friends, to name just a few. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I dream of opening for someone for a tour leg with my band, and playing venues and festivals internationally. I also hope to perform and speak at schools, providing youth with resources on how to interact with students on the autism spectrum.
