About Your Favorite Play
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories is my parents playing vinyl in our condo in Los Angeles. I remember how naturally they’d both lock into the same song, the same feeling, like music was its own shared language in the room.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Death Cab for Cutie, Transatlanticism Demos Queens of the Stone Age, Songs For The Deaf UK Version Radiohead, Kid A Transatlanticism Demos by Death Cab for Cutie, Kid A by Radiohead, and Songs for the Deaf by Queens of the Stone Age. Each one feels fully committed to its own world, which is something I always admire and chase in my own work.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “After-Hours Cat Café” “After Hours Cat Cafe” is special because it’s based on a real night: my first date with my wife at a cat cafe. It captures a rare kind of feeling specific, unexpected, and beautiful that I think some listeners might recognize in their own lives.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable parts of making music has been hearing from strangers who found something personal in the songs. That kind of connection always means more to me than numbers do.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I’d love to make the kind of records that quietly last, the ones people keep returning to years later. Beyond that, I just want to keep growing and make work that feels fully honest and authentic. Other than that, we'll discover where the wind blows.
