About Sara Melson
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember seeing Judy Garland sing Over the Rainbow in the Wizard of Oz, and I became completely obsessed with that song. I used to sing it incessantly, in my room, by myself, to my parents' dinner guests... It still puts me into a dream state.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Carole King, Tapestry Pink Floyd, The Dark Side of the Moon Remastered The Rolling Stones, Sticky Fingers (2015 Remaster) Remastered These three had a huge influence on both my singing and songwriting. My parents had them in their record collection, and I used to run home after school and immerse myself, memorizing every note, inflection, and word. These three are epic classics.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “This Must Be The Place” I'm excited about this new one of mine. I wrote this one to soothe myself, to remind myself that I'm in the right place at the right time, even if it may not always seem that way. I hope the listener can take solace in that message too.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I just had the honor of playing a show at the historic Village Studios in Los Angeles. I got to play the same grand piano that was used in recordings by Fleetwood Mac, Dylan, and the Stones! It was a thrill to perform there.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I really want to get back out on the road and do more touring. Connecting with live audiences is one thing AI will never be able to do! The human experience of making magic happen through music is what motivates me to sing, write songs, and perform.
