About Luke Haines
One of the sharpest, most prolific British songwriters of his generation, Luke Haines has lent his singular talents and eccentric worldview to a wealth of memorable projects. He was the musical mind behind the glam noir of the Auteurs, the broken funk of Baader Meinhof, and the downbeat pop of Black Box Recorder. After Black Box Recorder's second album, The Facts of Life (2000), Haines embarked on a solo career, applying his caustic wit to a wide spectrum of styles and subjects on albums including The Oliver Twist Manifesto (2001), Setting the Dogs on the Post-Punk Postman (2021), and three albums with Peter Buck in the 2020s including Going Down to the River…To Blow My Mind (2025). 2026's Izzy Wizzy Let's Get Busy saw him putting a witty and sinister spin on children's TV of the 1970s.
