About Franck Amsallem
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
1977, being at the Grande Parade du Jazz in Nice and witnessing the Basie Band followed by the Thad Jones Mel Lewis Orchestra, during four hours of insane swing. Those arrangements and soloists have stayed with me ever since.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Ahmad Jamal Trio, Ahmad Jamal At The Pershing: But Not for Me
Joe Williams, Presenting Joe Williams & Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra
Keith Jarrett, Facing You
This represents the epitome of Creative Jazz, either rooted in the tradition or displaying a deeply personal statement. My life wouldn't have been the same without these three recordings.

“Blue Gardenia (feat. David Wong & Kush Abadey)”
A miraculous moment in the studio with two musicians I had never played with. The restrain, a feeling I absolutely love, is mesmerizing and constantly present, with my colleagues David Wong & Kush Abadey understanding everything I'm aiming for.
