About Ars Nova Copenhagen
Ars Nova Copenhagen is one of Scandinavia's leading chamber choirs. The group specializes in Renaissance polyphony but also performs contemporary vocal music. Ars Nova is known widely for its performance of polyphonic Renaissance choral music by the likes of Desprez and di Lasso, previously unknown works by Pierre de la Rue and Nicolas Gombert, and new music by contemporary composers, including new works written for the choir. Ars Nova earned a Danish Grammy for a recording of sacred music by Nicolas Gombert and a Grammy Award in the U.S. for David Lang's The Little Match Girl Passion. Sofi Jeannin became the chief conductor in 2024. In 2025, Ars Nova issued the albums Michael Gordon: A Western; Caroline Shaw: How to Fold the Wind and Huang Ruo: Book of Mountains and Seas.
