Bassist Tony Levin attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, where he began taking a serious interest in jazz and rock. In 1970, he relocated to New York where he began working as a session musician. In the late '70s, he joined Peter Gabriel's band and collaborated with Robert Fripp Subsequently, he became a member of Fripp’s band, King Crimson, remaining with them through the '90s. Levin founded his own record label, Papa Bear Records, releasing his collaborations with Bill Bruford alongside his solo efforts. Levin has also worked with the California Guitar Trio and continues to occasionally lend his talents as as studio bassist.
