American jazzman Eric Harland is a premier and prolific jazz drummer. In addition to leading and performing with his own band, he is a member of SFJazz Collective, works in the groups of Charles Lloyd, Chris Potter, and Gilad Hekselman, and plays in James Farm with Aaron Parks and Matt Brewer. He’s amassed hundreds of recording credits. Harland began his recording career with guitarist/bassist Rodney Jones on 1996’s The "X" Field. During the early 21st century he played in the bands of Ravi Coltrane and Terence Blanchard. He joined Lloyd’s band for 2004’s Jumping the Creek (and remains a member) and worked with Dave Holland between 2007 and 2016. Under his own name, he released Voyager: Live by Night, his debut, in 2011, and followed with Vipassana in 2014. 13th Floor appeared in 2019 and Vipassana II was released in July 2026.

Eric Harland has also released music as a member of Charles Lloyd & The Marvels, James Farm, Aziza, Charles Lloyd New Quartet, Dave Holland Sextet, and The Monterey Quartet.
