Artist Biography
A young lyricist from Ypsilanti, MI, Cutthroat started practicing the lyrical craft at the tender age of 14. Serious about his mission to master the art of MCing, Cutthroat reached out to the ever-thriving Eastern Michigan hip-hop underground and found common ground with a number of MCs, DJs, and producers. Though the immense skills of Detroit artists like Eminem, D12, Slum Village, and Royce 5'9 might make any MI rapper think twice about the MC field, Cutthroat persisted, forming his own record label, Golden Glair Records. With a little help from Detroit area rap pioneer Mark Kempf (the man who helped Eminem and Bizarre get their start) and his Silent Records staff, Cutthroat was able to release his debut full-length album, Analyze and Interpret, in late 2000. ~ M.F.
