Artist Biography
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember hearing a banjo on the Neil Diamond soundtrack for the movie "The Jazz Singer". I think it was the first time I'd ever heard the sound of a banjo. I was probably around seven years old. I was mesmerized by it, and played it over and over. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
John Hartford, Aereo-Plain
Paul Simon, Paul Simon Bonus Tracks Edition
Willie Nelson, Red Headed Stranger
These are three albums that have been with me since I was a teenager, have profoundly influenced the music I play and the way I write songs, and that I'm always in the mood to hear. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Old Dog”
I love this song because although it's one of the shortest, simplest, and quickest songs I ever wrote (wrote it in about ten minutes), it has had the most connection with people...and that's what music is about - connection.
