Artist Biography
Tommy Trash is the rare electronic artist who is equally comfortable performing, producing, remixing, and composing. Born Thomas Olsen in 1987, the Bundaberg, Queensland, native is classically trained in both trumpet and piano. He parlayed that musical background into inventive remixes for EDM stars such as Zedd, Kaskade, and Dirty South before finding success on his own as an artist in 2011 with the bagpipes-augmented house classic “The End.” In 2012, Tommy Trash raised his profile with remixes for Steve Aoki (“Ladi Dadi”) and deadmau5 (the Grammy-nominated “The Veldt”); the following year found him teaming up with Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso and the singer John Martin for the vibe-heavy “Reload,” which became a major hit in the UK and Australia. Tommy Trash’s work continues to evolve and grow, with his dreamy, evocative remix of the 2020 deadmau5 and Kiesza collab “Bridged By a Lightwave” giving way to 2021’s high-energy, Yolanda Be Cool-featuring anthem “Emergency.”
