Led by guitarist Steve Blaze, Lillian Axe is a melodic rock group known for its infectious blend of hard rock and glam-tinged pop-metal. The band caught the tail-end of the pop-metal boom, issuing two superb major-label efforts, 1988's Lillian Axe and 1989's Love + War, before succumbing to the cresting wave of the grunge/alternative rock scene. Despite enduring multiple lineup changes throughout the decades, Lillian Axe has remained in the conversation, delivering assured progressive-leaning efforts like Deep Red Shadows (2010), XI: The Days Before Tomorrow (2012), and From Womb to Tomb (2022).
