Artist Biography
With a name that telegraphs a mix of exhilaration and international intrigue, Dash Berlin make trance music that’s supercharged with drama. Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn founded the group in The Hague, in 2006, and Jeffrey Sutorius joined shortly thereafter. The trio’s 2007 single, “Till the Sky Falls Down,” established Dash Berlin’s signature sound, a driving, uplifting take on trance that they continued to develop on numerous releases for Armin van Buuren’s Armada label, as well as their own sub-label on the imprint, Aropa. As the trance scene of the 2000s gave way to the EDM boom of the 2010s, Dash Berlin’s melodic focus made them a natural fit for dance music’s pop-friendly turn. Sutorius, long the trio’s frontman and public face, left the group in 2018, and then, following a legal dispute over the alias, assumed control of the name the following year. In 2021, Kalberg and Molijn announced that they were taking the reins once again, initiating a new era in the group’s odyssey.
