In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first time I heard Miles Davis play "All Blues" I was hooked on this music and the trumpet. The way his sound resonated out of the horn and the way he played made me want to be him, or at least do what he did.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? John Coltrane, A Love Supreme Roy Hargrove Quintet, With the Tenors of Our Time Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life A Love Supreme is all about the spirit and diving into oneself, almost like a meditation. Stevie Wonder is the best song writer ever. The lyrics and the harmonies, man! Tenors of Our Time was my first Roy Hargrove experience and it hooked me.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Larry Sings” This song is a ballad that says thank you to my grandfather, without him I would not be playing the trumpet. He sacrificed for every opportunity I had growing up. My music is always a tribute and thank you to him.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In my career to be able to tour as a member with the great, Count Basie Orchestra was truly a highlight that came full circle for me. I sat in the fourth chair the same way my mentor, Clark Terry did.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I look forward to one day taking my band on tour around the world hitting major Jazz Festivals and sharing my music with so many people.
