About Willis Alan Ramsey
Artist Biography
Seldom has a musician ever been more misrepresented by his biggest claim to fame than Willis Alan Ramsey. A country/folk singer/songwriter whose lone 1972 album was influential on Lyle Lovett and others, Ramsey had his biggest payday when soft-pop duo The Captain & Tenille scored a huge hit with his composition “Muskrat Candlelight” (as “Muskrat Love”). Ramsey continued to perform live into the 21st century without releasing another album, but his cult status among the singer/songwriter crowd remained at a lofty, almost mythical level.
