An award winning bluegrass band from Nashville, the Grascals' mix of traditional, gospel, and country influences are heightened by the virtuosity of their playing. Formed in the early 2000s by a group of veteran players, they had already toured as Dolly Parton's backing band before releasing their 2005 debut on Rounder Records. Over the coming years the Grascals remained staples of the bluegrass charts, sending albums like 2008's Keep On Walkin' and 2011's Country Classics with a Bluegrass Spin to number one while accumulating numerous honors, including multiple International Bluegrass Music Association Awards (IBMA) and three Grammy nominations. Despite numerous lineup shifts, the quality of their music has remained remarkably consistent from album to album. In 2025, two decades after their debut, the Grascals celebrated the anniversary of their first album with a new collection, 20, then returned in 2026 with Not That Gone.
