Artist Biography
Christian singer-songwriter Kim Walker—now Kim Walker-Smith—first sang onstage at age three, performed in musical theater during high school, and gave her life to God at 18.
∙ In 2005, Walker won first prize on the TV vocal-competition So You Want to Be a Star.
∙ After joining the Jesus Culture youth ministry at Bethel Church in Redding, California, Walker and other worship leaders formed a band of the same name and started releasing albums in 2006.
∙ A video of Walker’s impassioned performance of John Mark McMillan’s “How He Loves”—from Jesus Culture’s 2007 LP, We Cry Out—has racked up 23 million views.
∙ She married worship leader and guitarist Skyler Smith in 2009, and in 2013 the couple released the well-received collaborative album Home.
∙ Walker-Smith’s third solo LP, 2017’s On My Side, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart.
