About Stephen McWhirter
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Singing into a hairbrush at six — which is funny now, because I’m bald. But the real one is later: eleven years as an addict who hated Jesus, and then giving Him my life and writing “Come Jesus Come.”
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Guster, Easy Wonderful (Deluxe Version)
Otis Redding, The Very Best of Otis Redding
Sunday Service Choir, Jesus Is Born
"Jesus Is Born" makes me feel like I'm singing in heaven with the angels and saints.
"Easy Wonderful" inspired me to produce music. "The very Best of Otis Redding" is when I started learning to sing more soulful and has stuck with ever since.

“Come Jesus Come (Live)”
I was an addict who hated Jesus before I wrote this song or it won a Grammy. Writing it, I learned to long for Jesus to come (Rev. 22:20). I love this version: no auto-tune, no big production, just a room full of people worshipping Jesus.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Tens of thousands of people coming to Christ through my story and music. That beats any award.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
A million people coming to Jesus through my life. And to never forget How Bad I need Him!
