Artist Biography
Bedlam are a seminal if short-lived Detroit-area horrorcore rap duo from the mid-Michigan city of Saginaw. Comprised of rappers Prozak (born Steven Shippy) and Madness (aka Curt D), the duo was founded in 1999 after the two became acquainted via their mutual affiliation with the R.O.C. and his second-generation House of Krazees collective. Bedlam self-released several editions of their two-volume Chemical Imbalancez series, along with the albums Shock Treatment (2002) and Bedlamitez Rize (2003; reissued in 2004 via Long Range Distribution). Following these releases, Prozak and Madness split and went their separate ways. Of the two, Prozak went on to have the most success, releasing the well-received solo album Tales from the Sick in 2008 via Strange Music. ~ Jason Birchmeier
