Artist Biography
A one-man a cappella group, Sam Tsui is a singer-songwriter and viral video star best known for his elaborate covers of pop songs.
∙ Tsui became a viral success in 2009 via a cappella videos in which he performed songs in layers, which were then edited together to simulate the sound of a choir.
∙ His debut album, 2010’s The Covers, featured a cappella renditions of songs by such artists as Lady Gaga and Journey, in addition to his breakthrough, “Michael Jackson Medley.”
∙ Shifting to original songs, Tsui reached the Top 40 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart with his 2013 LP, Make It Up.
∙ In 2016, he appeared in the TV series Bones, performing as a member of a college a cappella group.
