In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My first performance was in Atlanta when I was 9.
The power went out at the school talent show, they needed someone to keep the show going so I played "I'm A Believer" without amplification. To this day it is still one of my favorite memories. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Emmylou Harris, Cimarron
James Taylor, Sweet Baby James (Remastered)
John Denver, An Evening With John Denver
"An Evening With John Denver" was my first favorite record. My dad had a tape of it that had been given to him by his Grandmother. John had already passed by the time I found his music, but his guitar player Steve Weisberg became a friend and mentor. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Don't Look Down”
I wrote "Don’t Look Down,” in the midst of the pandemic as a reminder to stay present and to choose to shift our consciousness from fear to love. The moment we are in is gift, and this song is meant to be a meditation, a prayer for peace in the now. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Making my Grand Ole Opry debut was a dream come true. My childhood hero Vince Gill joined me and we sang his song "This Old Guitar and Me" together. Standing in the circle was surreal. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I'd love to play music at Red Rocks, where John Denver recorded part of the "Evening With" album that made me fall in love with playing music. I've also dreamt of his main guitar, a 1970 Guild F-50R, since I was a kid.
