Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to B.B. King & Bobby Blu Bland with my grandpa just riding around singing blues. Cleaning with granny listening to Luther Vandross and Tina Turner. They help me just to enjoy music and feel it.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Noa James, Granny Said Phantom Thrett, Broken Winter The first album is dedicated to my granny and I was blessed to release and create this while she was alive, thats truly special to me. Broken Winter bring me some much joy, we would bump this album so many time on my first tour.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Voyage To Shadow Island (feat. Big Cali)” The is the first song i wrote after my granny passing. I was in a dark place just reaching for light and the process and atmosphere helped me find that light. That moment help me find another spark for creating and I fell in love with my craft again.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Getting the cover of IE Weekly (Inland Empire Weekly Magazine). I was the first black and the first rapper to get it. I just got on paid dues festival thats hosted by Murs. My family was in shocked like "wow he's really doing it". That felt so good.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I really want to tour international, I want shoot a video in Japan and Thailand. I also would love to do music for Disney. I love how Walt turn this pain in to treasure. Thats the path I'm on.
