About Humanity's Last Breath
Humanity's Last Breath are a Swedish death metal band formed in 2009 by guitarist, songwriter, producer, and engineer Buster Odeholm; he was joined by Filip Danielsson (vocals), Johan Aldgård (guitar), and Marcus Rosell (drums). Following the release of 2011's full-length Structures Collapse, Aldgård was replaced by guitarist, producer, and engineer Calle Thomer. Following two albums on Rogue Records, the band self-released the more technical Detestor EP in 2016. Their third album, 2019's Abyssal, was their debut for Unique Leader Records.
Humanity's Last Breath returned in 2021 with Välde. Following European and North American tours, the quartet re-entered the studio. While they carefully balanced atmospherics and brutal underground death metal on earlier recordings, 2023's Ashen tipped to the more atmospheric end of the spectrum in songs fleshed out by slower tempos without sacrificing heaviness.
