In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I didn't sing till I was almost 21 years old at all, but I do remember playing piano for a couple of years when I was very young and performing at a couple recitals. I still have the mojo in my hands but wish I could play those pieces again!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Voodoo Gregory Alan Isakov, Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony Sam Cooke, The Soul Stirrers, Sam Cooke with The Soul Stirrers These are a great mix of old soul, Neo- soul, and folk music - I try to blend these genres in my own compositions as well and all of these artists have been deeply influential for me.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “The Perfect Little Imperfections” This is an odd but delicious one of the interludes on my records where I place sampled voices of friends responding to a prompt over improvised music.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I got to freestyle sing with Everyone Orchestra at the Oregon Country Fair main stage late night show. There were almost 10k people there and I made up a whole song lyrically and melodically with some amazing musicians on stage.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd like to play Red Rocks or the Filmore and perhaps even the Grand Ole Opry!
