About Alexandra Stan
There was no escaping Romanian singer Alexandra Stan’s fiercely fun 2010 Eurodance jam “Mr. Saxobeat.”
• Stan was discovered at a karaoke bar in 2009 by producers Marcel Prodan and Andrei Nemirschi. Her debut single, the suggestive “Lollipop (Param Pam Pam),” proved a minor hit in her home country.
• Written by Prodan and Nemirschi, “Mr. Saxobeat” went Top 10 in more than 20 countries, including the UK, where it peaked at No. 3.
• She teamed up with reggaeton sensation Daddy Yankee and fellow Romanian songstress INNA for the single “We Wanna,” which appeared on her 2016 album Alesta.
• In 2018, she featured on Romanian DJ Manuel Riva’s song “Miami,” which reached the Top 10 of Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart.
• Although she tends to sing in English, Stan does have a handful of Romanian-language songs, including “Obsesii” and “Delfinii.”
Alexandra Stan has also released music as a member of G Girls.
