Artist Biography
A US hard rock trio of the late 60s and early 70s, Help comprised Jack Merril (vocals/guitar), Robert Rochan (bass) and Chet McCraken (drums). Their career was launched in 1970 with the release of a self-titled debut album for Decca Records. Several critics were taken with the group’s powerful, clean-cut material, which possessed the same sort of gripping conviction as the better work of Mountain. However, despite another endearing exposition of classic American rock with the release of Second Helping in 1972, by which time they had transferred to MCA Records, the group failed to build up sufficient sales momentum to facilitate further activity.
