Artist Biography
The symphonic progressive rock band Double Helix was formed in 1999 by classical composer and soprano Jill Arroway and former Solstice keyboardist/vocalist Sandy Leigh. Fusing their musical backgrounds together, the two women explored a sound that combined classical orchestration and vocals with progressive rock keyboards and Leigh's more rock-oriented voice. The duo's debut CD, The Butterfly Effect (2000), was recorded using mostly synthesized instruments and the two vocalists. In 2001 the band became a trio with the addition of keyboardist/vocalist Alex Ramonsky. ~ Geoff Orens
