About Little Pink
Washington Post newspaper reporter Mary Battiata formed Little Pink in the summer of 1999, taking the name from the Band's album Music From the Big Pink. Using the remains of her previous group, Star Nash, the reporter and singer/songwriter recruited members of the Graverobbers and Last Train Home to record the group's debut effort. In the summer of 1999, eight songs were recorded and were followed by others in the subsequent months. In 2001, the group released Cul-de-sac Cowgirl, an effort deep in the roots of alternative country and country-folk. ~ Jason MacNeil
