About Joshua Idehen
British-born Nigerian poet and musician Joshua Idehen is praised for his thoughtful, optimistic lyrics, delivering messages of hope with good humor. He is highly versatile, working with jazz musicians as well as dance producers and rock bands, including the Comet Is Coming, Portugal. The Man, Metronomy, and Daedelus. He first earned notice through his releases with U.K. bass group LV during the early 2010s, as well as his jazzy electronic group, Benin City. After releasing additional material as part of the group Hugh and the jazz collective Calabashed, Idehen began concentrating on solo work during the 2020s, produced in collaboration with Ludvig Parment (Saturday, Monday). He issued the mixtape Learn to Swim in 2023, then scored a viral hit with the provocative "Mum Does the Washing" in 2024.
