Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Music became a part of me at six, a way to cope with trauma I couldn’t express. Michael Jackson was the first artist to capture my heart—his passion showed me how to pour everything into the art.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? JAŸ-Z, The Blueprint Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d city (Deluxe) Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain (Deluxe Expanded Edition) 2015 Paisley Park Remaster Blueprint taught me to be precise with story and wordplay. Purple Rain showed how far style can stretch. m.A.A.d city was therapy—it voiced the pain we carry in the ghetto and made me feel seen. Those albums shaped how I survive and create.

Tell us why you chose this song. “Once Upon A Time” “Once Upon A Time” was the first record where my team gave me space to pour my whole soul into the mic. I’ll never forget when my engineers stopped everything to watch me sing—their stunned reaction told me right then, we had something special.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Even though I have had very little commercial success. I am grateful to have been able to make the records I wanted to make. Then I also own them in perpetuity. Something to give my children. One day people will discover what we have built.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to make a record with everyone you consider great. To show you my skills are from heaven. You can put our records next to any artist. You will see even with the little we had. We were faithful.
