Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest memories of music became a part of my cells when I was six years old, and I needed an outlet to project the trauma healthily. Michael Jackson was the first artist to capture my heart and mind truly. He gave his all on a record.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? JAY-Z, The Blueprint Kendrick Lamar, good kid, m.A.A.d city (Deluxe) Prince & The Revolution, Purple Rain (Deluxe Expanded Edition) 2015 Paisley Park Remaster Blueprint taught me how to be thorough in my storytelling and wordplay. Purple rain taught me how an artist could push themselves to change their style drastically. m.A.A.d city gave me therapy and gave voice to the pain that we have in the ghetto.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Once Upon A Time” Once Upon A Time is a record that my team allowed me to fully express my soul on a track. My engineers when we were recording stopped to watch me sing it. I knew we had something special when they honestly reacted with shock when I sang the record.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Even though I have had very little commercial success. I am grateful to have been able to make the records I wanted to make. Then I also own them in perpetuity. Something to give my children. One day people will discover what we have built.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to make a record with everyone you consider great. To show you my skills are from heaven. You can put our records next to any artist. You will see even with the little we had. We were faithful.
