Artist Biography
Since their formation in 2011, Osaka-based J-pop girl group NMB48 has scored more than 20 No. 1 singles and sold more than 9 million albums in Japan.
∙ Their first single, “Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shōjo,” debuted at No. 1 on the Japanese singles chart in 2011.
∙ In 2012, the group was selected for the Best 5 New Artists honor during the 26th annual Japan Gold Disc Awards.
∙ After a run of six stand-alone singles, they released their debut LP, Teppen Tottande!, which was ranked third best-selling Japanese album of 2013.
∙ The group shot the sequel to their film NMB48 Geinin! in 2014, following the successes of their first movie and three seasons of their TV show, which ran from 2012 to 2014.
∙ Namba Ai ~Ima, Omou Koto~, their 2017 LP, returned them to the top of the Japanese album charts for a third consecutive time.
