Formed in 2011 out of a series of community jams in their native Orange County, California, Moonsville Collective are a seven-piece Americana string band. With a pair of singer/songwriters in Corey Adams and Ryan Welch adding to their sturdy core of traditional material, the band is a communal affair with a freewheeling good-time spirit underlying their Appalachian, Southern, and Texan influences. Featuring mandolinist Matthew McQueen, fiddler Sean Kibler, drummer Drew Martin, and the father-and-son team of Dobro player Dan Richardson and bassist Seth Richardson, Moonsville Collective released their debut album, Cradle to the Grave, in early 2013. The group became a live staple in Southern California and toured frequently, resulting in their second LP, a concert album called Salamander Sessions, which was released shortly after their debut. After signing with Nashville-based Rock Ridge Music in 2014, the label reissued both albums in a double-disc set. Moonsville Collective returned in late 2015 with their follow-up studio LP, Heavy Howl. ~ Timothy Monger
