About Rhye
Artist Biography
Originally a mysterious internet duo, the alt-R&B project Rhye has become a collective revolving around Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer Michael Milosh.
• Before Rhye, Danish producer Robin Hannibal was a member of electro-soul duo Quadron. Through Quadron’s label, Hannibal discovered Milosh and invited him to Denmark, where they collaborated on a few songs.
• The pair reconnected in Los Angeles and quickly formed Rhye. Their 2012 debut singles, “Open” and “The Fall,” saw immediate success—as of 2021, they have garnered over 130 million combined streams.
• Rhye’s 2013 debut album, Woman, hit No. 55 in the US and made the 2013 Polaris Music Prize longlist.
• Hannibal departed from the duo in 2017. Milosh subsequently restructured Rhye as a musician collective, of which he was the centerpiece.
• The following year, Rhye sophomore album, Blood, cracked Billboard’s Canadian Albums chart.
• Rhye’s fourth album, 2021’s Home, features the Danish National Girls’ Choir on two tracks.
