A band of Canadian brothers who’ve set up shop in Las Vegas, Palaye Royale is a self-described fashion-rock band with a hyper-dedicated fanbase they’ve dubbed Soldiers of the Royal Council.
∙ Originally known as Kropp Circle—Kropp being the brothers’ last name—they switched to Palaye Royal in 2011, a name inspired by the Toronto dance hall where their grandparents first met.
∙ In 2014, a still-unsigned Palaye Royale won MTV’s online Musical March Madness competition, with their fans rallying them to victory over established acts Linkin Park and Coldplay.
∙ Boom Boom Room (Side A), the group’s retro-rocking debut full-length, was produced by Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha, who also played bass and sang backup on the album.
∙ The band cracked the Top 10 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart with 2018’s Boom Boom Room (Side B) and reached No. 12 with the LP The Bastards two years later.
∙ Palaye Royale received a 2020 Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Group of the Year.
