Since 2014, country star John King has released multiple standalone singles as a solo artist while also topping the Billboard charts as a songwriter.
∙ In 2014, his debut single, “Tonight Tonight (The Best Night of Our Lives),” was his first Top 40 country radio hit.
∙ He scored his first No. 1 hit as a songwriter in 2015, when Randy Houser’s “We Went” topped the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart.
∙ In early 2019, King’s pop country single “Try Saying Goodbye” was included on Rolling Stone’s 10 Best Country Songs to Hear Now list.
∙ King cowrote “Rollin’”—the lead single from Hootie & The Blowfish’s 2019 LP, Imperfect Circle—which was the first song the band had released since the mid-2000s.
