About Murkage Dave
British outsider pop artist Murkage Dave combines soul, grime, two-step garage, house, and indie with witty, observational lyrics and incisive social commentary. Born in London, he attended Manchester University, where he formed a soul band; an early single, "Hands on Her," was remixed by Sunship, becoming a U.K. garage anthem. He then promoted club nights as part of the Murkage Cartel collective. Moving back to London after ten years, he released his debut single as Murkage Dave, "Car Bomb," in 2016 on his own label the Outlet. The track appeared on his first EP, D.A.V.E., Pt. 1, and his debut album, Murkage Dave Changed My Life, in 2018. Dave's second album, The City Needs a Hero, appeared in 2022, with a companion album, The City Needs... Part Deux, and a remix EP, The City Needs a Remix, arriving the following year. His third album, Brut Thoughts, was released in 2026.
