In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. KAVA first met as the core members of AfroZep, fusing West African rhythms and Highlife, Soukous, EthioJazz grooves into Led Zeppelin songs. The trio then rented a cabin to improvise, listen to albums and create a new original sound.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Animal Collective, Merriweather Post Pavilion Miles Davis, Bitches Brew The Mars Volta, Frances the Mute Our first retreat was a mix of improvs and playing albums for each other. TMV- fuses prog with Latin while creating a totally fresh unique sound. Bitches Brew was the catalyst for our open improvs and Animal Collective showed use of electronics
