With a self-proclaimed history that involves hailing from Venus, traversing the time-space continuum, and a tussle with Walt Disney, Valient Thorr isn't your average hard rock band. Yet even given their personal mythology, and adopted stage names such as Voiden Thorr and Dr. Professor Nitewolf Strangees, this North Carolina outfit still rocks inside the lines. Drawing influence from the likes of Kiss and Metallica in their blend of classic hard rock and hair-singeing heavy metal, Valient Thorr unleashed its first sonic assault in 2005 with TOTAL UNIVERSE MAN. 2006’s LEGEND OF THE WORLD and 2008’s IMMORTALIZER followed, pushing the band’s concoction of churning riffs, punishingly heavy rhythms, and science fiction themes to new, outrageous heights.
