Trisha Yearwood is an award-winning American country music artist who has sold more than 15 million albums.
∙ Inspired by the music of Linda Ronstadt, Emmylou Harris, and Patsy Cline, Yearwood dropped out of college to pursue a singing career in Nashville.
∙ She sang backing vocals on Garth Brooks’ Diamond-certified 1990 album, No Fences, which led to a label deal of her own with MCA Records.
∙ Her self-titled 1991 debut produced 4 Top 10 hits, reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and won her Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
∙ “In Another’s Eyes,” her 1997 duet with Garth Brooks (who would become her husband in 2005), won a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
