Artist Biography
Recording artist William Hut was first introduced to global audiences via his work as a frontman for Norwegian pop/rock band Poor Rich Ones. Formed in 1994, PRO were active from their debut record, Naivety's Star in 1996, to their last release, Joe Maynard's Favourites in 2003. Over his years with the band, Hut won a Norwegian Grammy Award and earned an enormous loyal fan base. Hut's solo debut, Road Star Doolittle, was released in the U.S. in 2003, welcomed warmly by stateside rock critics and named by some as one of the best releases of the year. His follow-up release, Versus the End of Fashion Park, produced a couple of Norwegian radio hits and was again well received by critics, although not an industry smash. Hut spent only a week April of 2004 in Boston recording his third solo outing, entitled Days to Remember. The album earned Hut his first Grammy nomination as a solo performer. Hut's fourth record, Nightfall, was released in 2007, featuring the hit single "Take It Easy," which spent better than six months on national charts. His most successful album to date, Nightfall achieved platinum status in its first few months on the market, selling over 30,000 units. ~ Evan C. Gutierrez
