Artist Biography
Best known for the hit “Shoulder Lean,” rapper Young Dro released almost a half-dozen studio LPs and more than 20 mixtapes since the early 2000s.
∙ The 2006 smash hit “Shoulder Lean” featured an appearance by Grammy-winning rapper T.I., was certified double-Platinum, and topped the Billboard Hot Rap Songs chart.
∙ Best Thang Smokin’—his 2006 sophomore release—hit No. 1 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 3 on the overall Billboard 200.
∙ During the 2006 awards season, he won Mobile Hot Ring honors at the BET Hip Hop Awards and Best Rapper (Georgia) at The Ozone Awards.
∙ He collaborated on Yung L.A.’s 2008 track “Ain’t I,” which landed in the Top 10 on both the Billboard R&B and Hip-Hop singles charts.
∙ After dropping almost a dozen mixtapes, Young Dro released his third official studio album, High Times, in 2013, returning to the Top 20 with the hit singles “F.D.B.” and “Strong.”
