Artist Biography
The Stuff consists of four rockin' Stockholm rats of unusual size who met in one of Europe's finest sewers and consummated a working relationship over a couple of Stooges and Kinks records -- served up with a side of stinky cheese. With tails tucked neatly into their skintight blue jeans, the Stuff scampered around most of the E.U. in search of music halls and an appropriate hole in which to record their first EP (2003's Say Hello to Mary). Following the rank stench of a scent trail, the Stuff's collective noses led them to the appropriately monikered Ill Wind Records, which offered them some ripe stilton, along with a record deal. A three-song single, Pl-Pl-Please, came in late 2004 and heralded the Stuff's first full-length, Pick It Up, Pig Boy, out in 2005. Known only as "rat in the leather jacket," "rat in the orange T-shirt," "rat in the cap," and "rat in the red jacket," the ratmen of the Stuff remain anonymous behind their rodent-inspired masks. If it turns out they're actually human, we'll let you know. ~ J. Scott McClintock
