Singer and songwriter Martyn Joseph writes passionate, articulate songs that speak from the heart, the soul, and the conscience, earning an international reputation as both a compelling performer and an intelligent tunesmith. Merging folk and rock with a Welsh undertow, Joseph made his breakthrough with 1989's An Aching and a Longing, a self-produced effort that scored him a deal with Myrrh Records. Sony signed him for 1993's Being There, and it launched a prolific recording career, with the songwriter recording 23 studio albums between 1995 and 2025. 2026's Troubled Horses, issued when Joseph was 65, served as proof that his talent and commitment had not faded a bit since his debut.
