In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember sitting on the floor of my childhood bedroom listening to Duke Ellington’s “Melancholia.” It moved me to tears and was the first time I felt so deeply seen by a piece of instrumental music. Emotionally, it held up a mirror. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
One day I would love to collaborate with Gerald Clayton and Ambrose Akinmusire.
