About Ricky Montgomery
Ricky Montgomery is a Los Angeles singer-songwriter whose emo-streaked pop songs found viral fame and propelled him into the spotlight.
∙ Though he was born in California, he spent his teen years in the Midwest and cut his teeth in the region’s emo circuit before releasing his debut solo EP, Caught on the Moon, in 2014.
∙ After returning to L.A., he formed indie group The Honeysticks, who released a self-titled EP in 2018.
∙ His self-titled debut album didn’t make much noise when it was first released in 2016, but two of its songs—“Mr Loverman” and “Line Without a Hook”—unexpectedly went viral in 2020.
∙ Newly signed to a major label, Montgomery recruited singer-songwriter mxmtoon to guest on a new version of “Line Without a Hook” that was released in 2021.
